Numerous people and organizations within Israel are working hard to create it's downfall. False peace organizations, left-wing politicians and groups, and quite a few in the Israeli academic world. Whether knowingly or not, these people qualify as a fifth column within the nation of Israel. Before I go any further, let me provide the definition of a Fith Column according to Webster Dictionary:
a group of secret sympathizers or supporters of an enemy that engage in espionage or sabotage within defense lines or national borders
Ze'ev Sternhell qualifies as a member of this Fifth Column. Him, and many like him, would rather watch Israeli blood spill than the blood of Israel's enemies. Mr. Sternhell et. al. have made a living attacking his nation and it's actions no matter what. Whether compassionate or with force it is either never enough or too much. The very nation that protects his right to spew vitriolic diatribes is always the victim of this hatred.
Despite truth and fact, Mr. Sternhell likes to blame Israel for pretty much everything wrong in the Middle East. When Israelis are killed and their property destroyed not one hand is raised by Sternhell and his followers. When these people retaliate then all sternhell breaks loose. Mr. Sternhell has a right to his opinion no matter how dangerous it is. However, there are consequences. The government may not shut you up but the people will. I am sure Israelis are tired of hearing how bad their nation is especially when it comes from another Israeli. An Israeli who has benefitted from his hatred. To them he is no less dangerous than the homicide bomber. In truth, he may be more dangerous.
